The guidance has been designed to improve awareness and understanding to aid early diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>A list of the symptoms for suspecting ME\/CFS is included below and the updated NICE guidance can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nice.org.uk\/news\/article\/nice-me-cfs-guideline-outlines-steps-for-better-diagnosis-and-management\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NICE ME\/CFS guideline outlines steps for better diagnosis and management<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Symptoms for suspecting ME\/CFS<\/li>\n<li>Debilitating fatigue<\/li>\n<li>Post-exertional malaise or symptom exacerbation, sometimes for hours days or weeks<\/li>\n<li>Unrefreshing or disturbed sleep<\/li>\n<li>Cognitive impairment<\/li>\n<li>Orthostatic intolerance and autonomic dysfunction<\/li>\n<li>Dizziness<\/li>\n<li>Palpitations<\/li>\n<li>Fainting<\/li>\n<li>Nausea<\/li>\n<li>Worsening symptoms on standing or sitting upright from a reclining position<\/li>\n<li>Temperature hypersensitivity<\/li>\n<li>Profuse sweating<\/li>\n<li>Chills<\/li>\n<li>Hot flushes<\/li>\n<li>Feeling very cold<\/li>\n<li>Neuromuscular symptoms, including twitching and myoclonic jerks<\/li>\n<li>Flu-like symptoms<\/li>\n<li>Sore throats<\/li>\n<li>Muscle aches<\/li>\n<li>Intolerance to alcohol, or to certain foods, and chemicals<\/li>\n<li>Heightened sensory sensitivities, including to light, noise, touch and smell<\/li>\n<li>Pain, including pain on touch, myalgia<\/li>\n<li>Headaches, eye pain<\/li>\n<li>Abdominal pain<\/li>\n<li>Joint pain without acute redness, swelling or effusion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Could you tell us a little about myalgic encephalomyelitis\/ chronic fatigue syndrome (ME\/CFS) and the reasons behind the recent update of the NICE guidance?
